Since October 7, 2023, Israel has faced a surge in casualties, with Emergency
Departments nationwide continuing to receive severely wounded patients
from the battlefield as well as civilians injured by missile and drone attacks in residential areas.
In response, the Israeli medical system has developed advanced trauma management systems and life-saving innovations.
The AUSIMED Seconds Save Lives Initiative is a transformative
partnership with the Alfred Trauma Service, offering:
I. An Unparalleled Learning Opportunity
• Senior Australian Trauma Care leaders will observe Israeli trauma management innovations.
• The delegation will study strengths, challenges, and lessons from the Iron Sword War. Delegates will attend a trauma
care symposium in Israel featuring international experts.
• Visits will include major trauma centers, medical corps, and rescue teams across Israel.
II. A Critical Training Solution
Filling a crucial gap, this initiative addresses Israel’s urgent need for more critical care doctors trained in trauma skills needed to respond in the critical first hours after life-threatening injury.
The Australian Alfred Trauma Service (ATS), a global leader in trauma education, will deploy its premier faculty to Israel to deliver a high-fidelity trauma procedures workshop. This hands-on training, incorporating advanced simulations, will be tailored specifically to meet the needs of Israeli medical teams, maximizing its life-saving impact.
This AUSiMED Initiative unites Australia and Israel
in a strategic partnership, delivering mutual benefits while strengthening
the positive ties between our nations.
